May I tour your resort prior to leaving my dog?
Absolutely! If you are interested in touring our facility, we recommend between the hours of 11am - 1pm on Tuesday-Thursday. Appointments are required.
This is when we have a lower volume of daycare and boarding guests being dropped-off or picked-up. Please keep in mind that due to insurance regulations, we are not able to go out on the outdoor play yard when it is in use. This is for the safety of you and our guests.
If you have any specific questions, feel free to give us a call at (334) 244-9543 and we will be happy to answer them.
Can I tour the outdoor play areas?
For safety and insurance compliance, we’re unable to offer tours of our outdoor play yards. However, we’re happy to show you all indoor areas of our facility and explain how our outdoor spaces are structured, supervised, and maintained. Your pet’s safety—and the safety of all dogs in our care—requires controlled access to these areas. We do offer video footage of our outdoor yards through our online virtual tour if you’d like a better sense of the space.
What safety systems do you have in place at River Paws?
Your pet’s safety is our top priority. Our facility is equipped with a full fire detection and sprinkler system, along with 24/7 monitored alarm coverage. In addition, we have a backup generator onsite to ensure continuous operation of critical systems in the event of an extended power outage.
Will my dog have access to water throughout the day?
Absolutely! Fresh water is available at all times in every area of our facility—indoors, outdoors, and even in our lobby spaces. We are intentional about ensuring dogs remain hydrated throughout their stay.
How do you monitor dogs during their stay?
Dogs in our care are supervised by trained staff throughout the day, and our facility is designed to allow for consistent observation and safe group management. Combined with our security systems and controlled play yards, we maintain a structured and secure environment at all times.
What happens if my pet becomes ill or needs medical attention?
Your pet’s health and safety are extremely important to us. If any concerns arise, we respond quickly and appropriately. For routine medical needs, we partner with Dr. Nelson of Pike Road Mobile Vet Clinic, who comes onsite to treat pets in our care. For urgent or emergency situations—especially after hours or on holidays—we work with Carriage Hills Animal Hospital. We will keep you informed every step of the way.
